Szekszárd Wine Region
Although there are some large companies active here, most winemakers run small-scale, family operations. They are usually happy to accommodate cellar visits, and some, such as the Fritz Winehouse also run guesthouses and restaurants. The Vesztergombi winery was one of the first to start producing new, high-quality Bull’s Blood in 1992 and replanting the Kadarka grape. Their cellars at Béla tér 7 in Szekszárd are open between 10am and 5pm on weekdays, or on Saturday morning.
